Jim Perrin’s Wikipedia page (part 1)

In a ‘Daily Telegraph’ article by Andrew Hough, 27/12/12, there was further news of the author, R.J. Ellory, and his Wikipedia entries.  As explained in an earlier posting we believe that the ‘Guardian’ country diarist for Wales, Jim Perrin, has common ground with R.J. Ellory: both are proved to have a propensity for ‘imaginative’ writing. Ref: ‘Jim Perrin Writes an Anonymous Letter.’

Recently we have noticed that since the first entry about Jim Perrin on Wikipedia, 22/10/05, there have been numerous amendments. (Wikipedia, ‘view history’).

Whilst we understand that anyone may add to an entry if the details added are correct, is it possible that the majority of these were posted either by Jim Perrin or at his behest; or by his inducement?  Sometimes changes were made in quick succession, even within minutes.

It is noteworthy that Jim Perrin is ‘advertised’ as a writer of obituaries and an example is actually given: we cannot help but feel that this advertisement indicates a singular lack of taste (if not an infringement of Wikipedia rules) although it is revealing that it should be thought so worthy of pride and recognition; and of self-promotion. Review of ‘Snowdon’ author Jim Perrin’s earlier book ‘West:’

We have expressed our belief that Jim Perrin uses aliases and we have pointed out, particularly, ‘Llywarch’ and ‘Melangell’. ‘Melangell’ (JP?) posted, on 05/09/2012, a comment following an article by The Guardian’s prestigious environment editor, John Vidal two days earlier. Unable to resist the temptation to correct a quote, he did so — perhaps to showcase his ‘erudition’ — (although anyone may look it up), and ended waspishly with a side-swipe by saying ‘The ignorance of these sub-editors!’ In fact he was third in line — two others, ‘FifthCookieMonster’ and ‘hitandrun’, had posted their (more kindly) comments on the 3rd and the 4th of  September.

‘Llywarch’ (JP?) having kept a low profile for some time, posted on Amazon, on 31/12/2012, ‘Ever heard of recurrent motifs and puzzled out their purpose?’ This piece of ‘cleverness’ was a belated response to ‘Richard’ whose review of West may still be read; he had had the ‘effrontery’ to award West merely one star on the Amazon review thread — thirteen months earlier, on 29/11/20 Continue reading

Does author Jim Perrin have a phantom PhD?

The title above is an alternative for the posting which this note follows, as Google have changed (on their site) the title as we wrote it — perhaps they have received a complaint? — missing out ours entirely; for the full details of Jim Perrin’s ‘PhD’, as far as we have so far discovered, please do read the information in the preceding post. However, the question remains: if Jim Perrin’s PhD is spurious a complaint would be understandable as the complainant would not wish more attention to be drawn to any possible deception: proof on the other hand, would settle the matter…
