Jacssisters’ complaint to Amazon

Thank you for your response to our email.

We have read your comments, also your guidelines, and we feel that the following points could usefully be brought to your attention.

We had no idea, when we first read an article in The Times, 13/07/2010, written by the author Jim Perrin about his forthcoming book West, that the book was to be published.

But we did read, only weeks after our sister’s death in May 2005, an article he wrote in the The Observer, in which he claimed our sister was his ‘Lover, wife and friend of forty years’, that he was with her when she died, and other inaccurate details.

Knowing these erroneous ‘facts’ to be entirely different from the truth we contacted Roger Alton who was then the editor to ask that we might print a — simple — rebuttal.

We had only asked him for the opportunity to refute the author’s untruthful claims.  He replied that he ‘knew Jim well’, and he would not accommodate us. As we were then unaware of the scope of the internet we didn’t realise the possibility that we could use it, and we took Roger Alton’s dismissal as inevitable, knowing of no other recourse. ‘Llywarch’ ‘urged readers to compare the two testimonies’

Jac’s sisters think it a moot point that ‘Liz’* was owed an apology (as s/he bare-facedly claimed) considering how she has written of us after our first, brief mention of her on the Amazon site in February 2011, since when she has used that site to defame us with apparent impunity.  Her attitude serves only to reinforce our view that in reality it is Jim Perrin who is using that name as one of his aliases, and the style may be compared with that of comments made by ‘Melangell’, ‘My Sweet Waterfall’ and ‘Rich’. However, in this post our concern is to show what an untruthful account of our sister’s life the author Jim Perrin has given in West, and how he has promoted himself and his book. We have said that much of what he has written about her is flagrant exaggeration, vivid imaginings and (this we can prove) absolute lies. An Explanation

The post which follows was written whilst the comments to which we refer (posted by ‘Liz’ and ‘Llywarch’) were, for many months, on the Amazon site; so it will be confusing to some who have not read them previously: they are no longer there!

However, as we have all the print-outs we shall in the future be posting those which will clarify this post, along with others which we believe Jim Perrin himself caused to be deleted.

We choose to do this rather than let what we consider to be very revealing circumstantial evidence disappear and we will put a link here when we are ready.
