Jim Perrin’s ‘modus operandi’ and unbalanced verbal attacks

arenigwilliams

We learnt only recently that Jim Perrin had written as his first chapter in The Climbing Essays an account of his ‘early’ relationship with our sister Jac. We know beyond doubt that this is a most exaggerated and heavily fictivised record and so much of what he has stated we have proved to be completely untrue. If only we had been aware this book was being considered before it was published, we could have taken steps earlier to expose the lies which we have shown him to have written about our sister in his introductory ‘first chapter’. If we had been able to alert the publishers to our legitimate concerns we feel sure they would not have allowed their lying author the leeway they did…

As he was unchallenged Jim Perrin ‘got away’ with his lies the first time, and he later transposed virtually the entire chapter into West but revealingly, in the chronological gap of time between the two versions, he altered his ‘story’ considerably.

We have said in the course of our posts that we believe, absolutely, Jim Perrin to be a liar and a fantasist, and when the second account is compared with the first we are able to show exactly how he has ’embellished’ it. Continue reading

Our Amazon review of Jim Perrin’s ‘West:’

It cannot be doubted that Jim Perrin, the author of the book West and a man whom we had come to know when he was involved with our sister Jac, caused the deletion of our review(s) on Amazon. He could not have tolerated the truth of what we had written — and when the information we post on our site is read, it can be seen why this deceitful author should be so concerned!

We first set up jacssisters on 07/09/2010, as a direct result of reading the other reviews on Amazon; some, we were certain, written by Jim Perrin using aliases, and now removed, as well as reviews and comments in The Guardian by ‘Melangell’ (another Jim Perrin alias, and still to be read there). Since then, as a result of so much help and additional support our site has become lengthier than we anticipated, and with (we have been told!) an impressive amount of information. Such an irony, when this outcome is one Jim Perrin could neither have wished for nor foreseen…

The following is one of our deleted reviews; although despite its length it did remain for quite some time until it was later ‘purged’:  it must be clear to all, that Jim Perrin complained…

‘We note that West: a journey through the landscapes of loss is available in paperback. As our sister was the person of whom the author has written at length, we wish to show that the book is, in great part, based on lies and the misrepresentation of his short relationship with her, and we have found it to be extraordinarily self-indulgent. This book is claimed by Jim Perrin in his articles and in his interviews — to be ‘autobiographical’, although in his entry-note for the ‘Wales Book of the Year’ he categorised it as ‘Other’: it was not even long-listed for this prestigious award. (And we are grateful to whoever were the judges!) May we make it quite clear that our sister Jac, was NOT Jim Perrin’s ‘lover, wife and friend of forty years’. What he has written here is not only flagrant fabrication but it is also an excellent example of his modus operandi. As The Wanderer  wrote on this site, 21/11/2010,  ‘Facts are distorted, time periods are shifted to deceive and disorientate the reader… ‘  At best, what Jim Perrin has written is a fantasised account, at worst he has in places lied outright (of which we have evidence). Jim Perrin: was he ‘really’ diagnosed with terminal lung cancer?

bud

We have been asked how we know that Jim Perrin does not have terminal lung cancer: might we suggest that it is he who should be questioned. Considering that we have put on record we do not believe what he says, he seems to be uncharacteristically silent. (This entry is being posted on the eleventh of May, 2011 — he claimed in a newspaper article, promoting his book, that his diagnosis was in July, 2007.*)

He wrote in West that he became ill and that his friends tried to persuade him to consult a doctor, but his words, on re-reading this section, appear to us to be exceptionally ambiguous.

Did he actually have a succession of tests and examinations?  Or indeed the invasive procedures: bronchoscopies; laryngoscopies; as well as biopsies? (Well, no. Apparently he ‘elected’ not to.)  And did he have the worry of varying provisional diagnoses as he described, before being given by a lady doctor with ‘a low-cut blouse and an extravagant cleavage’ a view ‘firmly expressed’; a ‘verdict’, that it was cancer? (We think the ‘extravagant cleavage’ is another flight of sexual fancy. Would any ‘lady doctor’ dress so unprofessionally?) Continue reading
