Jim Perrin’s fiefdom ?

We were at first intrigued by the spite with which ‘Melangell’ wrote of us in comments on the Guardian thread, 24/07/10, then amused by what were clearly spurious postings on other sites; finally, bored with the nonsense which was issued at every opportunity — and which we suspected to be devised entirely by Jim Perrin, using that name as an alias — we set up this site.

It is said that ‘All publicity is good publicity’ and perhaps we should have left the matter, rather than undertaking this journey in which all sign-posts point ‘West:’ but our natural wish was for the truth about our late sister’s ill-fated relationship with this author to be made known and we realised that as Jac’s sisters, we were best placed for the task.

If we do not speak, Jim Perrin’s provable lies and deceptions — his attitudinising — would go on indefinitely and this knowledge led us to overcome our reluctance and to set out on our venture: from technophobes we became twenty-first century bloggers. Continue reading

Our Amazon review of Jim Perrin’s ‘West:’

It cannot be doubted that Jim Perrin, the author of the book West and a man whom we had come to know when he was involved with our sister Jac, caused the deletion of our review(s) on Amazon. He could not have tolerated the truth of what we had written — and when the information we post on our site is read, it can be seen why this deceitful author should be so concerned!

We first set up jacssisters on 07/09/2010, as a direct result of reading the other reviews on Amazon; some, we were certain, written by Jim Perrin using aliases, and now removed, as well as reviews and comments in The Guardian by ‘Melangell’ (another Jim Perrin alias, and still to be read there). Since then, as a result of so much help and additional support our site has become lengthier than we anticipated, and with (we have been told!) an impressive amount of information. Such an irony, when this outcome is one Jim Perrin could neither have wished for nor foreseen…

The following is one of our deleted reviews; although despite its length it did remain for quite some time until it was later ‘purged’:  it must be clear to all, that Jim Perrin complained…

‘We note that West: a journey through the landscapes of loss is available in paperback. As our sister was the person of whom the author has written at length, we wish to show that the book is, in great part, based on lies and the misrepresentation of his short relationship with her, and we have found it to be extraordinarily self-indulgent. This book is claimed by Jim Perrin in his articles and in his interviews — to be ‘autobiographical’, although in his entry-note for the ‘Wales Book of the Year’ he categorised it as ‘Other’: it was not even long-listed for this prestigious award. (And we are grateful to whoever were the judges!) May we make it quite clear that our sister Jac, was NOT Jim Perrin’s ‘lover, wife and friend of forty years’. What he has written here is not only flagrant fabrication but it is also an excellent example of his modus operandi. As The Wanderer  wrote on this site, 21/11/2010,  ‘Facts are distorted, time periods are shifted to deceive and disorientate the reader… ‘  At best, what Jim Perrin has written is a fantasised account, at worst he has in places lied outright (of which we have evidence). Our reply to Rob MacNeacail’s letter

Rob MacNeacail  wrote to Jac’s sisters, via ‘Amazon’, on the 15/10/2010:

‘Whilst you may decide to insist that Jacquetta wasn’t married to him, [Jim Perrin] this isn’t really the point, if a man who has lost his loved one feels they were married, does it matter?’

*       *       *       *       *

Oh yes, it is ‘the point’! — and it certainly ‘does matter’. Given their particular circumstances it was highly dishonest to claim it. Had their relationship been happy they might indeed have considered themselves ‘married’. But the time which they shared was so short, living together for barely eighteen months and our sister, in that last year, was so beleaguered with their personal conflicts that she had made the decision to ask him to leave as soon as possible: Jac certainly did not consider herself to be married to him and had on many occasions refused his suggestions that they should be so; this was even from the outset of their relationship, before it’s deterioration. He was well aware of this; there could have been no misunderstanding…

The relationship was not as Jim Perrin represented it in West and he, in the full knowledge of its breaking down (with the evidence of his own actions and words — see his letters to her on this site) has written entirely with the success of his book in mind. He has quite shamelessly used libel; ‘libel-less libel’; misrepresentation and other spurious ‘effects’. He has not hesitated to use sophistry, and as we can comprehensively prove has told the most outright, and outrageous lies.
